A  unique guesthouse in  the heart of the Marrakesh medina...

  Riad Arahanta

...a tranquil haven in the bustle of Morocco's most colourful city.

We offer our guests bed and breakfast, full board or self catering accommodation within our traditional and charming renovated Marrakesh townhouse (a riad).

Facilities comprise courtyard level apartments: 2 master bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, 2 single bedrooms, another modern shower room, kitchen and our spacious Moroccan style salon. Both the salon and courtyard have dining and breakfasting areas thereby enhancing the accommodation on offer.

A corner of the courtyard

In addition guests also have full use of our colourfully planted roof terrace, ideal for sunbathing, relaxation or dining all year long.

The riad is owned and managed by its resident English and French speaking hosts who will be delighted to discuss all of your requirements before and during your stay. Maid service is also included and our house manager is available at all times. Riad Arahanta staff can offer additional services and help - tours to local attractions or extended visits by car to other Moroccan places of interest for example. Party nights featuring local musicians, singers and dancers can be arranged too. Golfers will find major courses just a short taxi trip from the house and there are many other sporting opportunities at the Palmeries resort just outside the city.

Lunches and dinners can be provided on prior request and Moroccan cuisine is by a local cook. Breakfasts, if desired, are French/Moroccan in style unless otherwise requested.

We work with artists and artisans within the local community and there are many things available for our guests' enjoyment within the comfort of the riad; henna artists, cookery and belly dancing lessons and demonstrations,  or accompanied visits to the nearby hammam (Moroccan baths) are just a few examples.

Our guesthouse is situated in the old walled city (medina) and is near to the famous square, Djemma al Fna'a where evening street theatre, a multitude of food stalls and many other entertainments await. Traditional souks offer ceramics, silver and jewellery, brass and copper wares, leathers and a whole range of fabrics, clothes and many other goods. All these markets are within easy walking distance of the house as are many of Marrakesh's other tourist attractions.
